CELTIC CLAIM NEW BRITISH FOOTBALL LOW AFTER LOSING TO LINCOLN CITY RE-ENACTMENT SOCIETY
Society President mimics Glenn Cockerill by losing wages at bookies
Scottish champions Celtic achieved the almost unthinkable last night when they took the reputation of British football to new depths as they managed to lose to a re-enactment society from Gibraltar who mimic classic characters from English non-league team Lincoln City.
“We love Lincoln City, they are like gods to us. We don’t try to play football, we don’t even like football, and it gets in the way of our acting. We try to be like the great characters from the mighty Imps,” says society president Tayno Rebore.
“Our Manager dresses the same as Keith Alexander with the yellow socks and I am like the general Glenn Cockerill. I move imperiously around the pitch and then lose my wages at the bookies.”
“Kevin plays the part of the legend Gareth Ainsworth with his flowing hair and Dave drew the short straw, he’s Graham Taylor sitting in the stand shouting stupid things like, ‘Do I not like that?’ and substituting our only goalscorer when we’re losing.”
The return leg is at Celtic Park next week.
