BREXIT POLLS LEAD CANCELLED OUT BY SUPPORT FROM SUN NEWSPAPER
After explaining away Farage, Boris and Gove, Brexit have most toxic supporter yet
Any joy from the latest polls for the Brexit campaign was tempered this morning by the announcement that the Sun ‘newspaper’ has joined their team.
One Brexit supporter lamented, “It’s like having the last kid to be picked in the playground added to your team only much worse. This kid is toxic.”
"Just when we think we've got it cracked, this toxic filth comes out in support of our argument. It leaves us questioning everything. We thought we’d ridden out the storm of the questionable characters on our side but how can we explain the Sun away? The Battle Bus is more like a hearse this morning."
Growing momentum for Brexit was underlined last night by a new pair of polls giving a six-point lead for the Leave campaign. However, the Sun has stunted any momentum by jumping on the bandwagon this morning, much to the disappointment of the leave campaign.
The announcement from the Sun Newspaper are a welcome boost to the flagging efforts of David Cameron, George Osborne and the Labour Party, all of whom are hoping they can now regain the initiative this week.
“This is like a golden ticket for our campaign,” said one Remain stalwart. “We’ve tried appealing to people’s common sense through the views of renowned Economists, and world leaders without much success but there’s no more powerful argument than doing the direct opposite to what the Sun tells you to do.”
“They're called the Sun but everyone knows they're from the dark side. If I had a choice between the world's most luxurious toilet paper and an edition of The Sun printed on sandpaper, I'd be genuinely wavering.”
