AMBER RUDD DRAFTS IN PAUL HOLLYWOOD TO HEAD NEW CIVIL ENFORCEMENT AUTHORITY
Bake off star says there’s no difference between critiquing St Clements cake and running country
Amber Rudd is to draft in Paul Hollywood to head a new civil enforcement authority under new Home Office rules. The new enforcement authority will have duties including border controls and corporate services.
A Home Office spokesperson said, “There’s no-one better equipped than Paul Hollywood. The dismissive way he’s able to put down an attempt at shortcrust pastry or accurately judge the bake of an upside down cake demonstrates he has all the authority for a successful career in civil affairs. He certainly seems to think so anyway.”
Hollywood himself says he feels ready for the challenge of discharging civic policy, “If someone makes a Pear Tarte Tatin and I feel the sweetness masks the taste of the pear, I f*&cking say so. If someone puts an unusual flavour into a St Clements Cake and I feel it’s overpowering, I f*&cking say so. I don’t see how there’s any difference between that and running the country to be honest.”
