96% OF CAR ADVERTS ARE PRETENTIOUS BULLSHIT RESEARCH SHOWS
Year on year increase gathers pace
A latest study has shown that the percentage of car advertising falling into the category of pretentious bullshit has increased from 92% to 96%.
A year ago researchers had hoped the rate of increase was slowing but it jumped in 2015 thanks to the release of the advert for the new Ford Mondeo depicting it as an injured Swan caring for its young.
Professor Gonad from the University of Lowestoft who led the research says the rate of increase had been slowing this decade but last year shows that car manufacturers are as happy as ever to let expensive City marketing agencies run riot with their blue-sky-thinking-bullshit.
Next year the figure could rise to 100% with every new vehicle advertised using pretentious bullshit.
“The only ones enjoying this are the agencies who exist entirely within their self-important bubble”, Gonad adds. “Our research concluded before the advert for the new BMW finding a previously undiscovered amazon tribe came out, so the figure could have been even higher.”
